• Review advances in acid suppression therapy
• Understand the current approaches to non-ulcer dyspepsia
• Review a new proton-pump inhibitor, esomeprazole (Nexium)
• Review the management of acute upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage, with a focus on pharmacologic issues
