Objectives:

• Review a case presentation of neurosyphilis
• Recognize the history, microbiology, and varied clinical presentations of neurosyphilis
• Review appropriate laboratory investigations for syphilis and neurosyphilis, and understand the laboratory limitations
• Understand the treatment of various types of syphilis, the approach to Pen-allergic patients, and required follow-up

• This event is eligible for Section 2 CME credit as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and may also be incorporated into a personal learning project (PLP) under Section 4 (Structured Learning Projects).
